The Virginia Tech men's basketball team has taken to the court in exhibition play. The Hokies went north of the border to Windsor, Ontario to play three exhibition games.


Two occurred on Saturday and the Hokies won both against the University of Windsor Lancers and London All-Stars. Tech won 88-69 against the Lancers and 70-65 against London.

In the first victory, Deron Washington and A.D. Vassallo posted 20-points a piece and added eight rebounds. Malcolm Delaney put in 15-points, while Jeff Allen posted 12 and Hank Thorns added 10.

The Hokies made 11-of-21 three pointers in the contest.

In the second game, Washington led the Hokies with 16-points against London. Vassallo had 15-points and 13-rebounds. Allen added 15-points and 11-rebounds.

The Hokies rounded out the series against the University of Windsor winning 79-52. In the win, Deron Washington once again was the leading scorer with 18-points, five assists and six steals. Malcolm Delaney posted 15-points, while Hank Thorns added 12. A.D. Vassallo put in eight points and 11-rebounds.

The men's basketball team will have a month off before practice begins on October 12th. They'll open the season on November 9th against Elon.
